Superintendent's Message for January 2025
Hello, Chargers!!
As we kick off the second semester of our school year, we want to take a moment to recognize the dedication, hard work, and love you put into supporting your children's education. Your involvement and support plays a crucial role in our school and the success of your child. Please encourage them to stay curious, be resilient, and embrace the learning process.
As you know from the parent square message, when we returned from winter break, we had an incident with two HS students exchanging a hunting rifle back to their rightful owner on school property. We have handled that situation, but it is a good time to remind everyone that weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited on school grounds. This includes but is not limited to, firearms, knives, or any other items that could be used to harm or threaten others. Our top priority is the safety of our students, teachers, and staff, and we must ensure that everyone in our school community feels safe and supported.
We understand that incidents involving weapons in schools can cause fear and anxiety for both students and parents. We all must work together to prevent such situations and keep our school a safe place for learning and growth. Our policies are in place to prevent violence and quickly address potential threats. When students bring weapons to school, it not only violates the law but also disrupts the safe environment we are committed to providing.
Our school has a clear policy that prohibits weapons on campus, and any violation of this policy will be taken very seriously. If a student is found possessing a weapon, the school will take appropriate disciplinary actions, which may include suspension, expulsion, and involvement of law enforcement, as necessary.
How You Can Help? We kindly ask that you take a moment to speak with your child about the importance of following school rules and the serious consequences of bringing any weapon to school. If your child encounters or is aware of a situation involving a weapon, please encourage them to report it immediately to a teacher, counselor, or administrator. Confidentiality will be respected, and students will not face any retaliation for speaking up.
Thank you for your support in helping to create a safe and secure learning environment for all our students. We are grateful for the partnership we have with our families to ensure the well-being of everyone in our school community.
