Welcome to Van Allen Elementary
Van Allen Elementary is home to 300 students in third through fifth grade, led by 45 full- and part-time teachers and staff. We are not content with our students just being successful... we also want them to SHINE! At Van Allen, we are a school community committed to:
- High-quality teaching and learning grounded in the Iowa Core standards, with differentiated practices based on student need
- Promoting a safe and encouraging learning environment where students can learn and grow from mistakes and also celebrate successes
- Implementing research-based practices to promote lifelong learning, including Growth Mindset and PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) through the Charger Ways: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.
- Building partner relationships between students, staff, and families
