District
The mission of the Chariton Community School District is successful learning for all students! Our district is located in Chariton, in Lucas County, Iowa, and encompasses the towns of Chariton, Russell, Lucas, and Williamson. Lucas County is in south central Iowa and is a fantastic place to raise a family.
The Chariton Community School District enrolls approximately 1,300 students in PK - 12th grades. We have five attendance centers, all located in the town of Chariton.
The Foundation
Always based in our mission, the Chariton Community School District Strategic Plan is also grounded in the district vision statement and the beliefs and expectations of the Board of Education. These components align to form the focus for the district and reinforce our priorities.
